Beach under the City Walls
Beach under the City Walls
For one of the most atmospheric swims on the Slovenian coast, head to the beach directly beneath Piran’s ancient city walls. This unique location is a wild, natural beach composed of rocks and pebbles, offering a dramatic contrast between the rugged coastline and the formidable medieval architecture towering above. It’s a spot where history and nature meet.
How to get there
The beach is located on the outer side of the Piran peninsula, just below the famous church bell tower. It is easily accessible by a short walk from Tartini Square. Follow the narrow streets towards the tip of the peninsula and then descend to the sea. There is no direct car access or parking, which helps maintain its untouched charm.
Why visit?
This beach offers an unforgettable experience, combining a refreshing dip in the deep blue sea with breathtaking views of Piran’s historic walls. It’s a photographer’s dream and a perfect spot for watching the sunset. While it is a wild beach with minimal amenities (only showers are available), its unparalleled scenery and romantic atmosphere make it a must-visit for adventurous swimmers and history lovers.
